Roots in the 1900s Our story began at the turn of the 20th century when this building was known as the “Erholungsheim Waldmühle.” Even then, long before modern tourism, travelers came to this very spot in Elend to escape the city and breathe the fresh Harz air. For over 100 years, our walls have been a sanctuary for those seeking peace in the Bode Valley.
A New Chapter in 1992 The modern soul of the hotel was born in 1992, when the property was given a new lease on life. With a vision to blend tradition with comfort, the building was lovingly renovated and transformed into the 3-Star Superior hotel you see today. We preserved the historic charm while adding modern amenities like our wellness area and cozy restaurant.
